This is the approach to Troll Mountain. It's a work in progress

The Throne Room. The obsidian chair is quite uncomfortable, but cozy in the winter.

I love your texture pack. Its so close to vanilla but it makes it look so much nicer. What is it called?

It's called boxcraft. It produces a very simple, clean look. I like it because it is very bright, and is good for working underground.

SG6 Rail Lines built

2/3 Central-North, N-NE, NE-ENE, N-NW, NW-WNW, NW-NNW, FW-WNW, FW-WSW, SSW-FSW

Station Redstone at NE and NW

Ori Deluxe chestcart handling at NE

Night work was popular on the railways, everyone wanted to help

Got the idea for rail support towers from someone who started a couple on the line from N to NW but then abandoned it.  I liked the sandstone look and elaborated on it a bit on the N-NW line

N-NW%20line.png

I liked this look so tried many variations on different lines.  Here is a more Mordor like style on the SSW-FSW line

Trying to find other ways to light the railway - here is an experiment with pole lighting on the FW-WNW line

I had fun playing with different tunnel decorative patterns

Here is the tunnel of awe and wonder on the NW-NNW line

Add a picture of the Time Tunnel on the NW-WNW line when I can take one...

On SG5 I acquired a taste for the look of stone bricks next to sandstone.  I like the contrasting light and dark patterns it created.  I explored that more with some of the tunnels I built on SG6.  Now I am trying it out with the castle I am building on my island.  This is a great artistic leap for me.  I usually go with a very simple mountain troll stone build, focusing mainly on militarily practical architecture designed for defense.  This time I am trying a slightly more decorative style.  Nothing like the true artistic builds going up on the map, but we must all work within our capabilities.   :)   This is a work in progress.  After the central fortress towers are done, I plan to build a moat around the curtain wall, then throw up an outer curtain wall around the perimeter of the island.  Then there will be various defensive towers built on the hills near the road approaching the front gate.   Then I think a lighthouse on the Northwest corner.  Then perhaps a keep will go up inside the central fortress, and a village inside the outer curtain wall, with some farms and woods if there is still room.

Good for you! Much as I admire your disciplined builds, I'm glad that you're pushing your own artistic limits. Now I should probably go and work on my mess....

My one eye is closed so I can keep an eye on myself. The other eye remains cracked open so I can keep an eye on you. For you are beautiful and someone must hold a space for you to shine and live in complete freedom when you will not see. What this means in literal context is this: Each of my two eyes are looking 'at you' and 'for you'. – Dustin Strong

Very impressive work on the rails and the Bridges.  It's really nice to see the different styles used when riding around.  I got all excited when I saw your troll mountain then realized it was on an older map.  I guess the pictures will have to be good enough.  I'll bet it was awesome to run through though.

I'll be coming by your place here on SG6 sometime, I'm interested in how the sandstone works with the stone.   Plus we're practically neighbors, only like a block away :D

I'm only one stop from the NE station.  The rail line deposits you in my workroom where I have been playing with redstone projects - a 15 auto furnace and a chest sorting system.  I'm going to post some pics of that next.   There is another rail line going up that takes you up to the fortress.    Very easy to get to.

Right now I am doing some major dynamiting to building the mote.
