Just some ideas I put together. This is not what the end result would look like, it can be changed in height, as well as diameter. Other building aspects could be added as well such as spires coming up the sides and a roof.

Sheesh that page took forever to load! :P

This seems like an "evil" magic kind of theme, it's a bit dark in my opinion, I've always liked good and bright magic.

But if we're going for an "eye of sauron" kind of feel, it looks pretty good, but the floor and portal placement is a bit off, and the bookshelves I think are kind of overdone. Parts of the outside seem pretty bland, but overall I like it!

If we're going for a nice or neutral magic feel, I had an idea a little while ago to have the mage tower a large hollow tree.

As an afterthought, maybe we could have two mage towers? One at opposite ends of the place, one signifying good, and one evil.

I also thought of using mossy or cracked stone brick as well in the construction, I just picked the netherbrick and sandstone because of the contrast. All the items can be moved, or just done away with, like I said just ideas that can be changed and it all can be dressed up. I just wanted to get something basic up. The hollow tree idea sounds interesting, although I'm not to good at building giant trees so we'd have to get an expert (ahem Ros) to help us with it.

Anyone else have some thoughts?

Like I said before this is just a model and in no means what the finished product would be. Of course it would be much taller, other things could be added as well. I just threw something together without having to build a complete tower. I just wanted to get ideas on material types, items for decoration, and other things we could put on it such as spires, a roof, balconies.
