I see no reason why we wouldn't be able to keep our current setup, aside from Microsoft mucking about with Mojang's authentication servers which would force us to verify member login identities in a different way (and there are options for this).

I've been investigating this possibility and so far my money's on xAuth, a plugin that provides a secondary player authentication system. If Microsoft cuts off 'traditional' authentication through minecraft.net (an unlikely but possible worst case scenario), with a little effort we can go rogue and keep playing.

We are through the looking glass, people.

I'd be a lot happier with predicting the future if there was more future worth predicting.

I thought it did that even before the whole Microsoft thing? It's just that we're still on 1.7 at the moment, while everyone else is 1.8. :)

My client only started doing that when disconnecting from SixtyGig a few hours ago.

Ohh, so it does it when disconnecting from an unrelated server? I assumed it was the same message that appears when accidentally clicking the "minecraft realms" button on the home screen. If so, yeah, we're screwed. It still doesn't do that for me, probably because I'm on 1.7.2. :)

As am I. Turns out this is a bit of a false alarm. My mouse has been a bit buggy lately and occasionally sends two clicks instead of one, so clicking Disconnect sometimes clicks Minecraft Realms in the main menu as well. Still though, screw Microsoft.
