I've noticed that sometimes when placing a sign in game various string terminators and padding characters will show up on the live map. They show up as little squares, and it gets quite annoying. For example: "My marker". It seems to appear randomly, and I usually end up replacing the sign until it works.

From inspecting the source, it looks like (at least in one case) the characters that appear are:

U+00EF LATIN SMALL LETTER I WITH DIAERESIS character (ï)
//Not sure why this is showing up, doesn't appear as an "ï" in any case.
U+009C <control> character (œ)
//This is a string terminator (null char) appearing in the control subset.
U+0080 <control> character (€)
//Control subset as well, but a padding character.

Is there a known way to prevent this? :)
