The only one I'll address is the portals. I'd be happy to set up portals around the center for easier access to the "outer" main map. Just set up mock portals for me and I'll fix it up! I think the placement you've suggested is a good idea. One question, the main map should go to 7500 in each direction so is 1875 the best spot for these portals?

Oh, it goes 7500 in each direction? I was assuming it was 7500x7500, since SG6 was 5000 in each direction (10,000x10,000). Since SG7 is actually 15,000x15,000, the correct location would be 3750. :)

Apparently dynmap has been pushed to 7500, but there is actual border at 3750 in game.
As for portals I’d suggest that they are placed in two thirds of center-border segment. For border at 3750 it would be 2500 and it would give the same size of land to explore around every portal.

I agree with Ori on the portal placement. It makes sense to do it like that.

B01E, thank you for all the materials for the town hall.

 

I've started the nether and end rooms, once I've finished the wilderness room and map room, I will start on the outsides.

Both the SixtyGig main and SixtyGig wilds maps go to 7500 in all directions from spawn.

 

Nope, they go to 3750 in each direction, making it 7500x7500. :)

Do we just build obsidian frames on the right positions? Need to light them up too?

Do we need to create "structures" for the portal, or can we do that after they're linked up?

Also, we should probably decide where we're putting the entrance portals. Around 0,0? In the city hall?

What do you mean by "structures"? Like the building that'll house them? If that's what you mean, then no - just a dirt portal will be fine and I can fill them in. Then you can go in later and build the structures if you please.

 

And yes, BD has a good point. We'll need entrance and exit portals.

Post in this thread when you made one and I'll mark it a shiny green in the list below.

0, 73, 2500 done! Cobble frame at the moment, with torches. A REALLY cool looking area, unique extreme hills biome complete with lava and overhangs. Has the potential for a great portal base/hub.
