We should also add [dynmap]s near the portal so we can see them on the map

I've placed 8 dirt outlines for temporary portals in the basement of the town hall, Stacey, if you could hook up the portals that are set up?

Likliksnek, you can Green the middle portals in your list.

 

 

My plan is to expand the basement and have a room for each portal.

 

 

Also the North Portal has been set.

The town hall looks awesome, Zeoph.

 

I have added some more building materials to your chests in the dirthouse. If you need something specific, please let me know, I'll try to get it in there as soon as possible. I'll try to add a bunch of different things that I imagine you'll need, whenever I can.

 

I also put 2 enderchests in there. You can place them where you think they fit.

 

Also, I have a humble request...

 

Could you add a second basement (or a separate room) with a trainstation. Nothing redstone or anything, just a platform where the rails can end, and maybe an opening or gate for each railline, so I have something to aim for with the tunnel I'm making to town hall. Right now I'm about 100 meters west of the town hall, but I'm not sure where to end the line.

2nd basement, will do

 

For decoration, mostly need deconstructed diamond blocks for building purposes - I spent last night strip mining and found nothing :(

How about we decorate each mainmap portal a bit like the landscape it sits in on the other side? :)

Like a desert one could have a little sand and a cactus, for example.

 

And Zeo, it looks all very pretty! :)

Yeah, that was the plan :)  I was going to expand out the basement maybe 4 or 5 blocks, then have a "room" for each portal

 

The idea is, you shouldn't need to look at the signs to know where you are heading

I went back with some more mats for the project, but noticed that one of the enderchests had been removed sometime today. Along with some stone and cobble. I hope it was you who moved it somewhere...

 

Anywho... a lot more mats have been placed in the chests for your building pleasure. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

As Likliksnek alluded to, each "main map portal" in the first basement of the town hall will be designed based on the area is opens up to.  For example, North East opens up into a desert, so the North East room will look like that.  If you could also build a "portal house" at the other end, so people don't get swamped by mobs when they travel through.

 

If you are up to building a room for a portal and a portal house, please post the one you want, and I will update the list.

Note that the NW/N, N/NE, SW/S, S/SE pairs share a wall, and the W and E share walls with the stairwell down to the train station

 

Also note that the portal is at the back of the room (Stacey needs to move them back), and that the polished granite border at the front needs to stay there.

I'll do what I'm guessing is the western one.  When it was first put in it was in the middle of the woods so I fixed it up a little and put in a walkway to the water edge.  I was thinking about setting up a few cottages to keep the theme of the area.

Stone, cobble or obsidian crater inside the lava and the portal in the crater.  Simple stone-type bridge over the remaining lava to exit the crater

Blue, you mean in the roof at spawnside?  That's from the nether portal upstairs, but you can replace the cobble blocks with something else?

Yeah, that's what I meant. It's a very low roof, and it has weird lava drips. I'll figure something out!

Good idea! Not quite what I was going for, though. ;)

 

I did manage to figure it out though, made it a sort of "cave" theme where the lava drips and low ceiling fit. South portal room is done! The portal house still needs doing, though.
