Oh jeepers it's turned into that old humbug "to bacon or not to bacon that is the question!" But I think, unfortunately that's actually central to what we are discussing.
Few more observations from where I'm sitting, not very eloquent and I'll probably repeat what I said earlier...
When SG5 was prepared for a bacon we agreed that there would be a "museum" of old maps that could be visited but not used, that's never happened. I'm guessing that it would involve setup and troubleshooting time that Ray just does not have, like many of us busy folks. So we should go with the option that gives the least hassle for Ray... otherwise it isn't going to happen.
The way we describe 60G - It's stated that the SG main map is "never" baconed; "SixtyGig is the main server map, it is never reset", but we seem to be heading for a regular bacon, perhaps we need to be clearer here so folks can plan a little with regard to build scale and scope. It's about expectation, " We reset annually", "We reset if it's a Leap Year" ".. if that Lawn goes brown" or whatever, but let's be more accurate! 8)
Personally I don't care either way about bacon now, I haven't finished what I planned to do on 6 and that would be a loss, but then starting again is fun, new mats too! Just please please please, no intitial massive scale exhausting, burning out period of mass transit construction and mountain clearing!
Cats, luv em! Here's a couple of our Madame De Pompadour, or Stinker for short. She is a madam and runs rings around her staff.
First a relaxed pose for the camera ( she will negotiate for collar modelling contracts) and finally a quick insight into her advanced IT skills, she likes to watch cats on YouTube. She does push the mouse around... honestly!
From my experience of owning one and admining another MC server a couple of years ago rather than having any inside knowledge of the plugins used here I can say that it's likely to be a lot more than enabling multiple-worlds. There are likely to be plugins for:
Security - such as World Guard as the built in whitelist system is not strong enough to keep the likes of those using hacked MC clients out.
Rollback - such as LogBlock or CoreProtect in case some griefer does get in or a member goes insane ( ... or more insane than they already are 8) ) the map or an area of it can be rolled back to a point prior to the damage occurring.
Player prefererences management - looks after who has the permission to do what, where.
And there are likely to be more, creeper damage control, dynmap, portals ofc... and some that we are better off not knowing about
Slowly, slowly catchee monkey is the best approach in this situation 8)
