Could be that they generate in new chunks, but If they generate in already spawned ocean areas it's possible that they do this by converting those chunks, a bit like how some biomes changed for old worlds when the anvil world was introduced back when beta worlds converted to "anvil" world type in 1.1

I never knew you were going to put these up for download, that was awfully nice of you. I'd been told you were totally against exporting stuff from the main map so I wasn't expecting any downloads from the world at all.

Thanks, now I should be able to explore all those sites I never saw when playing on old Sixty Gig.

So, with 1.8 coming out and the addition of new stone, water temples, and other new stuff that only generates only in new worlds, will Sixty Gig have to be re-set again or will you just be using the monthly regenerated areas to get new resources and keeping the seas temple-free? Just wondering.

Well, I'm afraid I may not be playing here anymore once you guys upgrade to 1.7

I tried out 1.7 on single player and it's just taking up way too much processing power with the new terrain generation, in fact on one world the game just crashed when I moved out of the spawn, everything was just really buggy, and I could hear my cooling fan going berserk, so it looks like I won't be upgrading at all if I don't want to burn out my computer.

If 1.7 gets a major upgrade that fixes this then I might be joining you, or if I get some upgrades to my computer in the future or find some way of super-optimising Minecraft or Java itself, but until then I think 1.7 is just more than my machine can handle.

and no, it's not just because I'm bummed about losing my golden apples, this really is a problem I've had trying out 1.7

but I'll reserve my place until then anyway, just to be on the safe side.
