In Topic: The start of a New Era - NonWhitelisted version

29 June 2015 - 10:29 AM

I posted a few thoughts in another thread regarding a new server but this one should probably be the official thread for us non-whitelisters as srm86 encouraged, so I'll reiterate and share some more here.

First of all, as I was only a brand new applicant before SG ended I hope you don't mind my participation here. I would very much like to be a part of this community. So much in fact that I haven't even bothered looking elsewhere to join because I feel like this is the best group and right place for me so I'd love to see it continue and am willing to wait for it.

I definitely agree with Drahmee's 3 points for a FigureHead. Its a big job but like Drahmee said, they can't do it alone. Just from what I've read here on the forum, there are several members that would be more than willing to help out and everyone seems to get a long nicely.

That makes a huge difference and the role of the FigureHead much more manageable. I served as FigureHead on my previous server and it was such a great group, I rarely had to do anything but whitelist new members. Granted, we were pure vanilla so I didn't have to worry about maintaining plugins, etc but as far as managing goes the server nearly managed itself. Is pure vanilla an option? It would certainly make things more simple, however I just don't have much experience with plugins to know all the benefits.

Regarding cost, since this is mostly an adult server I'd expect most of us could manage a single dollar or two every month or even every other month. I'd certainly be willing to contribute. A dollar or two a month is more than worth it for me to be part of a great Minecraft community.

I used a few different hosts throughout my former career as a FigureHead. My favorite was BeastNode. They seemed to offer the best performance and technical help. This was about a year ago.

Wow that's  cool! His character was very memorable, great actor! I forgot that most of the show was filmed in Vancouver.

I really enjoyed that show, I wish it could have lasted at least another season or two.

WorldlyWalker,

Yes, thanks so much! He was perfect, just a precaution over here. Better to have him checked as fine than to not have him checked and something happens to him as a result...

I can relate, my 3 have been in and out of the emergency room countless times and all hours of the night since their infancy. In most cases for us it was never anything too serious (fortunately), but little ones just seem too fragile to take risks!

Hello Matt and welcome to the forums! :)

Wow triplets! Do the all look alike (and will start to try fool you in the near future ^^)?

You sound indeed like a great fit for us and I hope you get your chance to join this lovely community.

So have a good time til the next reviews :)

Good luck!

Lik

Thanks I hope so too!
My triplets consist of 2 girls and a boy and the girls are identical so most people who aren't around them often usually can't tell the difference. They still have their own unique differences that we see every day so I don't think they could fool us now, however I feel like they're starting to look more alike as they get older. We have several pictures of them where I have to look really close to figure out who's who!

In Topic: Favorite films?

08 June 2015 - 07:29 PM

I love movies and its hard for me to list only 10 of my favorites but these are the first ones that come to mind. In no particular order...

  1. Star Wars: A New Hope
  2. Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
  3. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
  4. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
  5. Mad Max 2: Road Warrior
  6. Jurassic Park
  7. Die Hard
  8. Aliens
  9. Guardians of the Galaxy
  10. Marvels's The Avengers

All Action/Adventure...lol. These are all movies I can typically watch any time and never get sick of, especially the original Star Wars Trilogy. I have so many more favorites though.

I recently saw Mad Max: Fury Road in the theater and it was fantastic! If you are a fan of action movies and the original Mad Max films you will love it!
