The new terrain generator

So what do you guys think of the new terrain generator as per 1.9 pre2? I've been messing around with it and I'm wondering what the rest thinks... because I'm less and less enthusiastic everytime I boot up the game.
Yes, it MAY generate awesome terrain, SOMETIMES. If we're lucky. Most of the time though I think its ****. Floating blocks everywhere, abnormal (and I mean truly abnormal) rock formations, entire plateaus of 1 block thick dirt just hanging there, the list goes on and on. It's like Notch programmed random chunks to just not appear at all or something, and I sure as hell hope it's not deliberate.
Structures are all very cool and stuff but I challenge you all to find a village that's not horribly deformed in some way.
I'm not even going to mention the new mushroom biomes

Of course there's a lot of good stuff as well. The swamps look good, the grassy plains as well. Actually now that I think about it my main quarrel is with the 'mountains'.
