Topics I've Started

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone!

As the date for voting/vouching approaches, I just wanted to introduce myself and provide a thread for everyone to get to know me a bit.

First of all, my name is Chase, so feel free to call me by real name or my IGN. I am majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis on Java programming. I enjoy hacking (in the educational, non-malicious sense of the word), modifying electronics, and of course, playing Minecraft. I am also an amateur pyrotechnician, and a traceur (one who practices parkour).

From what I've read on the forums, I really like the feel of the community here, and I look forward to becoming a member.

Do any of you have questions for me? Or maybe you'd just like to talk about some similar (or different) interests?

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hello everyone,

IGN: BLuFeNiX
Age: 20
Location: Catonsville, MD
How I found this server: Google.

Why I want to join
I have been playing Minecraft on and off for a couple of years now. I started playing online at Project Xaldin, but soon found out that most of the players were 12 year old greifers and whiners. I decided to start my own server, which was moderately successful. I had about 20 regular members, most of them close friends, and I have to say I was an outstanding admin. I had a lot of fun being an admin for about 6 months, but then Minecraft lost its appeal to me. Instead of playing the game I was a busy admin, so I stopped.

Recently, I'd been wondering if Minecraft got any cool new updates. I logged into Xaldin, hoping to find a mature player environment. I was sorely disappointed. About 30 minutes ago, I Googled for "Minecraft for adults." While this lead to some inappropriate, albeit funny content, it wasn't quite what I was looking for. A few minutes later, a search for "mature Minecraft" led me here. I liked what I saw in the rules and testimonies, so I thought I'd give it a try.

How I plan on playing
Survival all the way. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE building, but I need the challenge and break from monotony. I read something about joining a group world, and I think I'd like to do that if I'm accepted. I really like building innovative stuff with redstone.

Screenshots: When I read this directive it made me wish I'd saved my old world to show off my stuff. In lieu of that, I'll list some cool stuff I've built. Maybe if you vouch for me I can build some for you. :)

* A self-building bridge. It's the only thing of its kind to my knowledge. I made a cobblestone generator and set it up with a redstone clock. It queues up 3 cobblestone, and then three more pistons push them out. If you blow it up (assuming you don't damage the generator) it will repair itself in just a few seconds.

* An obsidian generator. There a plenty of these on youtube, I just took a popular one and made it a bit smaller. It included a redstone switch to release the lava, and a discreet container.

* Hidden automatic doors (one of my favorites). A bit too complicated to explain here. It was based on a youtube guide and improved upon.

Thank you for reading and considering my application,
