In Game Name: nicecupoftea
Real Name/Preferred Name: Richard, but Nice will do. Or Tea.
Age: 38. I think. Doesn’t seem possible…
Previous Minecraft Experience: I’ve been playing since before beds, back when dying really, REALLY induced rage quits (Or in my case, an exasperated tut and a cup of tea. I don’t really do rage).
I’ve played various mods, like FTB and Hexxit, but never really got into Creative stuff. I’m a ‘build a home and go from there’ sort of player, rather than a massive builder, although I’ve dabbled in a few larger constructions. I started hollowing out a massive underground hall, Mines of Moria style, back before you could enchant picks, but gave up. Maybe I should go back….
Despite my looooong time playing MC, I’ve only recently got interested in multiplayer. I think I was worried it would be full of 12 year olds swearing and being, well, 12. Unfortunately, it was. I did join a server, kept my head down and ignored the flow of trolls and griefers, paid my donation, built my stuff and the server vanished, without a trace.
After a few months of exasperated tutting and cups of tea, I asked the Google Gods for an adult server (which sounds a bit pervy) and here I am! Judging by the other applications I have read, there are a lot of people looking for a decent server, in every sense, and SixtyGig seems to tick all the right boxes. I’m really hoping to be able to join a stable, post-pubescent community to have fun and play happily for the rest of my days.
My Backgound: I’m a Primary school teacher, living in the South East of England. I teach 5-6 year olds so Minecraft is my primary stress reliever!
I’m somewhere between a hardcore and casual gamer. I enjoy FPS, strategy and RPG games, currently flipping between Witcher 2, SimCity and Minecraft (always Minecraft).
I like Sci-fi and fantasy, Neal Asher, Alastair Reynolds, Tim Butcher and Ben Aaronovitch being current favourite authors, and I love me a bit of Doctor Who!
I also like cooking, but rarely have enough time to experiment properly. Too busy mining…
Oh, and did I mention, I drink tea?
