Mob griefing and 1.8

01 October 2014 - 04:29 AM

Just a quick question,

Once the server updates to 1.8 is there a way to turn mob griefing on for villagers, because as far as I can make out the villagers wont harvest, plant or share food without it.....and this will have a knock on effect for breeding.

I've been able to breed villagers by trading but this can become a bit of a pain. Hope I get a positive answer :-)

GrimTent's application

24 September 2014 - 05:31 PM

In Game Name:
GrimTent

Where I'm from:
Northwest England.

Real Name/Preferred Name:
My real name is Si, but I'm happier to answer to Grim in game.

Age:
40 (it still hurts to type that)

Previous Minecraft experience:
I've been playing 18 months or so, and about a year on my own account. The boy let me on his account and regretted it straight away. He grew up and moved onto other games, I felt I was grown up enough and carried on playing.

I have a love of large underground holes, I'm a bit of a digger. Give me a beacon and an efficiency 5 pick and I'll be in heaven. I know my way around redstone (well enough to make things happen, mostly at the right times). Automation is the main thing I get up to most as my building skills are not the best, and as I build underground you wont have to worry about the dodgy builds ruining the view :-)

I have only played on one server (about 10 months), which is very friendly and has a good community, but I have started to feel that I'm out growing it a little. Griefing and hacks are not really an issue, even though it's an open vanilla server, but a little adult conversation would be nice when playing. I built the enderender on the server, various other farms, and other bits and bobs with/for the commuinty and other players.

My background:
I'm married (almost 20 years), two children (which will be referred to from here on in as the Boy and the Girl).

I manage a supported living home for adults with autistic spectrum conditions.  This  can have its moment, which is why I love the Zen of digging, my mind goes blank, the blocks go 'thlop' and the stress falls away.

This post is a lot scarier than any job application I've filled in, so much riding on it, by the time you all read this I'm guessing it will be on its seventh draft :-)

I think I'm good company (once I get going), and generous, if I have something and am not using it, there is a good chance I'll give it to you if you need it (but I'm a bit of a hoarder).
I listen to a lot of late 80's Indy music and enjoy horror films.

I hope that covers all the intro bases, and I look forward to chatting with some of you over the next month or so on the forum.

Oh almost forgot, its Tea.
