I_Love_to_Build

I'm not really sure where I should start with this, as I've never applied for a server such as this one before, but I'm just gonna go for it and type what's on my mind.

My in game name is I_Love_to_Build. I know, it's a silly name and all, but I was 14 when I made the account, and I thought that because I had it that administrators for servers would instantly like me, because I liked building so much. Needless to say, this plan failed. 3 years on, I'm 17 years old, and I regret making this username to this day. But I keep it, for sentimental purposes, y'know... 

My first experience with survival Minecraft was quite an odd one, as I'd been playing on Classic for about a year beforehand, and I thought that the premium version would be exactly the same! Oh boy, was I wrong. I thought that you just had to click once to destroy blocks, and it took me at least a half hour to figure out that you had to hold your mouse button in. Crafting is a whole different story. It took me an hour to figure out how make tools, and even longer to figure out that there was a forum to show me what to do. I followed the instructions on "How to survive your first night" and it didn't help at all. I ended up being chased by a green cactus alien that ended up exploding in my face and killing me. Failure on my first night. I was disappointed to say the least, but I kept persevering and trying to survive, each night lasting longer than the last. I loved my first experience with Minecraft. It was something new, something fresh, something different to countless hours spent on Xbox Live with my friends playing games like Halo and Call of Duty. I still have that singleplayer world. I still play on that singleplayer world. I'm just looking for something to rekindle that feeling of discovery that I've longed for for many many months.

From reading your "About Us" section, I think that this server is indeed the best that there is to offer, and your list did a good job of convincing me that. Your unique selection process intrigued me, and I'd love to be a part of it, and your server. For about a year and a half I've been looking for a good server that offers a mature community, with little chance of griefing, but still sticks to it's vanilla roots. This is that server, and it sounds phenomenal. I feel like I could offer a lot to your server. I'm not sure if you can tell, but I LOVE to build, and I would also consider myself a great survivor as you can tell from my short story!

Anyways, I'll start to tell you a little more about me as a person, as that seems to be very important to you, because, as you say, "We're looking for good people, not good players." I'm 17 years old, I live in Northern Ireland, and I currently go to a grammar school and I'm in lower sixth form there. I enjoy playing sports such as badminton, tennis, basketball, rugby and football (or soccer to the Americans.) I am studying ICT, English, Physics and Psychology for my A-Levels, and I am hoping to go to university in England to study Psychology or Computer Science, and try to get a Masters degree in one of the two fields. I'm 186cm (6'1), and I weigh 13 stone (182lbs.) I enjoy playing video games such as Minecraft, of course, Titanfall, Call of Duty, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Far Cry, Grand Theft Auto V and Battletoads. I used to play a lot more video games than I do now, but Minecraft is my main focus when I do play them. I don't play as much video games as I used to because of two things. The first being that school work started swamping me and I don't have the time, and when I do have the time the second thing calls. My girlfriend. I've been spending a lot of time with her and I think that it's effecting my video game time, but I don't mind! I enjoy listening to music from the 'Indie Folk' genre. 

In my free time that doesn't involve homework, my girlfriend or video games, I enjoy spending time with my family. I currently live with my brother, Gary, my mother, Vicky, and my dog, Jessie. Oh, I probably should have mentioned my name. I'm Adam. I live in a small town, and it's in Ireland, like I said. When I spend time with my family, it's either at the local steakhouse, or in the living room watching movies and reality television. It's the little things that count, and I don't take them for granted. Family is everything to me.

You have a great section on what maturity is and what it means to be mature, and I would consider myself very mature, in terms of your definition of the word. I'm open-minded. My brother recently came out as homosexual, and I think it really broadened my horizons and made me see things from a different light. My parents also separated when I was very young, I was only 10 years of age, and I think that I was forced to act maturely quite quickly, and I didn't have very much of a childhood. This is one of the reasons why I cherish family so much, they helped me through all of this. I've also been taught to be open-minded and not to judge people until you've walked in their shoes for a mile from a very tiny age, so I have lots of morals, and I don't judge anyone's situation or judge anyone as a person.
