In Topic: apexuser1's dream of political stability

Basic Info :

 MC-IGN: apexuser1

REAL NAME: Jonathan/Джонатан

LOCATION: Russia

AGE: 14

APPLICATION : Hello Sixty Gig! I know my age may be below your usual mark but you'll barely even notice ( I don't mind mature content).

I happend to stumble apon your comunity when I was browsing Java-Gaming.org forms. As soon as I saw it I was hooked. Your server is the perfect representation of my political views. I believe in a sort of democracy/communism/socialism mashup. I do java programming with the LWJGL library, as i am creating my own game ( http://www.java-gami....html#msg337574 ).

I see your server as a near-perfect political model that could be applied in real life.

To make a long story short, I want to join because your server mirrors my political views and it offers a good place for the minecraft "everyman" to make his mark upon a server. Many thanks Большое Спасибо! NOTE: I speak english fluently.

I'm just bumping my application so please consider it. Thanks I've just been really busy and haven't had time to check in.

I love my country and our flag....I also love Mexicans, Brits, and every other country and it's peoples (even Canadians.)  I hate in every way when people confuse patriotism (and the good that can come with it) for the right-wing "I hate everyone else" centrism.

Having had the good fortune to travel to many countries and see different cultures, it makes me appreciate the differences, and I fully accept that the US isn't the best at everything.  It doesn't make me love the country any less...it makes me love it more...and every other country/culture.  It doesn't make me want to get rid of our flag.  It makes me want to see more countries and experience their unique cultures.

(P.S.  I also love our national anthem, but the Canadian and Russian ones are two of my favorites.)

I've been thinking, If you move to France it doesn't make you french, if you move to America however, it makes you an american.

As we have proven time and again, democracy is a two-edged sword.

This is a good point Dan! I vote for a full Monarchy. I have a double-edged sword...it will be perfect. 3:)

What do you think of communism though?

I don't think it works for modern society, to put my view simply. I feel like it requires a lot of blind trust between citizens to distribute fairly, and I don't believe we are capable of sustaining that on a global, continental or even national scale. Town to town? Maybe. City to city? Possibly. But I think we're far beyond the possibility of going back to such local governance. I also enjoy feeling like there is an open international community out there, and I think increased localism puts pressure against that.
I would consider myself somewhat socialist though in terms of public services and citizens income, but not to the point of a completely moneyless society.

One idea I somewhat subscribe to along the lines of communism is that we may well get to a point where automation of industry and the resulting unemployment would hit such a level that we will indeed have to make a change in global society away from traditional means of income. But then predicting future markets can prove incredibly futile as we have no idea where the next big leap in human development will take us, so I don't follow it without criticism.

I'm sort of in the same position, because I think that communism works best with many small comunities. It just doesn't work very well when it's taken to a large scale. :\ But then, like you said, it takes away the idea of a large international community.(makes  the world a bigger place) :( And I still don't fully agree with a moneyless country.
