But wouldn't the scholars have to survive the study in order for that to happen? If you ended up killing them like you kill Dan then there wouldn't be an overcrowding problem.

I wouldn't kill scholars. The world needs more scholars, not less! I only kill Dan with love. Like a child who hugs their kitten too hard. Around the throat. With a knife.

Now, scholars at Cambridge have taken up the cause (when will they learn!??)

Of course they've taken up the cause! It offers them protection!

Now we have dead Cambridge scholars. It's not that she's intentionally killing them, it's that they've all gone mad and are now zombie's and had to be put down. We have just witnessed the start of the Zombie Apocolypse

Here's an idea:
How about about a series of small islands to host each portal to each person's zone. For a time, each user can "decorate" their corresponding island to their choosing as a form of personalization.

I don't think that would be realistic given the sheer amount of people on SixtyGig.

In addition to number of people we need to know how many portals we need to accommodate. Will each player be allowed only one personal portal or an unlimited number. Will personal portals be allowed to the Wilds or the Nether? Answers to those questions might help size the project.

This is why I kind of like the current hub as it has a spot for the wilds, nether and end, and is ever expandable as needed. Knowing how the new portal system works could prevent this from working.

When it was brought up in chat they were talking about the community comming together to build one. I don't believe there is a design yet, but could be wrong. i do remember that there were several that were involved in the last portal hub build. I know you spearheaded it Garrik. I suggested they post to the forum here and see what the idea for the portal hub is, if we are going to copy the old one or design new or what.
