You can change your in-game name now? Or you're just changing from what it is in the Xbox version?
My in game name was an accident but I couldn't (can't?) change it without buying a new copy of minecraft.
No, you can't change it.
I ended up in the same situation, didn't realize it would be the name used in-game. I went and purchased another account, and have been letting my friends and siblings use the other one until they realize they're addicted and need their own account. 
They should really have a clear warning or an option to change the name. I feel like most games have had a separation between account and game names.

Oh ok, well my new IGN is RJP91 and I'd like to replace the IGN in the opening post with the current one (and remove the other one from the first post.... but I'm guessing that can't be done).
You know I actually really enjoy the xbox version to be honest. It's missing a lot, but I like being able to sit on my couch and play on my tv. The controls are very simple too. It's a lot more relaxing playing on it for some reason (it's probably the couch ). Also inviting friends onto your server is rather easy.
Also, I saw that boat! That thing is nuts!

Hmm...is there a way to edit posts here? I'd like to change my Minecraft username and remove the current one, but I can't seem to find the option.
