To echo Oribloke: Google is your friend. I kinda get a theme in mind and google it then just browse the images it brings up. I prefer to build from the inside to the outside so I can be sure I'm happy with the actual used space which is the most important part for me and then I try to figure out how to enclose it. Of course, this may change as I play more: my single player home base is still mostly a stone brick box but my outposts are getting more elaborate in both redstone and appearance. I just haven't had the inspiration and drive to wipe out and rebuild my primary residence there yet.

You two seem so sweet. And you're bringing up some sweet memories of my own that I haven't remembered recently in the daily to-do that having a child involves. Thank you, I'm gonna go give my sweetie an extra hug.

Random unsolicited tidbit for the day:
I dream of owning a couple acres of land with a cow, a couple pigs, and a flock of chickens. Meanwhile we live in an apartment and I practice my homesteading skills like fermenting and in today's case making CHEESE!
I picked up our milk from a local farmer this morning and tried to turn some of it into mozzarella. I failed. Instead of a smooth, shiny, stringy, melty cheese I have a lumpy, breaky, squeaky, won't melty pile of cheese curds. They are, however, DELICIOUS. I was ready to just eat them all out of the bowl but my husband insisted I "think of a proper application to use them." Spoilsport. What do I do with a mild flavored cheese that doesn't melt? I'll probably just end up eating them for breakfast before he gets up tomorrow.

Your story resonates for me as my husband and I met through WoW. We were lucky to discover we were only 4 hours apart rather than across the world like you two though. I wish you the best both in game and in life and I hope things can work out for you two.

Oh awesome! Thanks so much for the pointers Sun! I would totally consider breeding some villagers on the server if A) I knew of anywhere on the main world where I could find some to breed (gladly accepting any tips here!!! lol) or B) I could bring them through portals from the wild to the main world. :/
If there aren't any still wandering around I saw the iron farm on the livemap, I bet you could arrange to get a breeding pair from there. As for their housing preferences, they are appalling easy to please.
