Cubefiend's application

14 December 2013 - 04:46 PM

Hi there,

First of all i would like to say that writing this feels weird. It feels like i'm writing a job application, wich is not a feeling i should be getting from a game. However due to my recent experiences on servers i now see why this is necessary, so i'll try to make this as interresting as possible.

IGN: Cubefiend

My name is Robert, i'm thirty-one years old and live in the Netherlands. I am a self employed carpenter. I started as a restoration carpenter at a big company. We worked on historical buildings and monuments. I even got to work on a castle for a few months wich was awesome. A few years after finnishing my training i went into bussines for myself. Now a do a number of different jobs. In the winter i do some exhibition carpentry, and in the summer i build stages and decor for big festivals and events in holland. This is all very season orientated work, wich means one month i'll have no time at all and the next month i have all the time in the world. In that spare time i like to play games. I like playing tabletop RPG's, board games, live action games (like paintball) and ofcourse videogames. I guess you could say that i am a builder and gamer at hart, wich brings me to minecraft.

In the last twenty years i must have played hundereds of videogames, from RPG's to first person shooters, and i have to say that minecraft is my favorite game ever. (dayZ is a close second) It's the only game that keeps inspiring creativity. Ever since the official release of the game i've spent countless hours on it, mostly in singleplayer survival. I enjoy every aspect of the game. Building, redstone, mobtraps and caving are what i spend the most time on. Recently i got interested in multiplayer. All that building is fun, but it's even more fun if you can share it with others.

However... everytime i join a server something ruins the experience. Bad server management, twelve year old admins, griefing, drama and other juvenile behavior. In the last six months i have played on six different servers. Frankly i was getting sick of it, so i typed "mature minecraft server" in google. Sixtygig was the first hit, i clicked the link and here we are.

I am looking for a server where i can where i can have fun and build, without having to worry about bullshit. After reading some of your forums, it seems like you guys feel the same way. The fact that there is no land protection is proof of that. (hope that's still the case in SG6) If you have to protect your builds from your own community members, then it's not a real community.

I think the only way to build trust is by playing together, so i hope to see you guys ingame soon.
