In Topic: Got Dirt?

You guys rock!

And I respect any who can't spare some.  We all go through a point in our lives when, you know, dirt's important to us.

As far as what my project is...

I live in mesa biome.  you can see my little hut and farm on the map where it says "drk's somethin"

Just north of me (i think), there is a huge valley that is completely closed around, like an oval bowl, pretty deep too.

So first I thought it would be neat to just fill it with water, like a big lake.  But at the end of the day how fun is a lake.  UNLESS

in the lake, which is situated in more or less a desert, are a couple of lush, green Islands.  So I'm going to build the islands myself, thus the dirt.

thanks for the help

Had me laughing out loud while I ate breakfast in McDonalds.

it doesn't really make sense that it takes less wood to make a boat than it does to make a door.

Wow, that had never occurred to me! Now that I think of it:
  • an anvil uses 31 Iron and an iron golem, despite being much larger uses only 36
  • a chest is hollow and uses twice the materials of a crafting table
  • a compass takes the same amount of iron as four shovels
  • you can make a square melon block from round melon slices
  • when eating a 'notch apple' you consume 154400 Kg of gold. That's more than the weight of six school buses!

Thanks everyone, was worried I was going to wait another month but really happy I'm in with the other applicants. Glad they made it too.

There should be 2 variations of boats. A raft (which would be like the boat we have now) breakable. And then a more heavy duty boat with a storage option that can't be broken but can slowly break down like tools do. Besides it doesn't really make sense that it takes less wood to make a boat than it does to make a door.
